Words from the President
STUNICA IKM FMUI stands for Student Union of International Class Ikatan Keluarga Mahasiswa Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia.
It was established in 2000 by the pioneer batch of International Class Faculty of Medicine with the purpose to provide activities, events and other efforts to increase the welfare of International Class students. STUNICA was meant to increase the availability of these activities for international students who have their lectures at different places and with different schedules. Several conditions such as the one year study for Bachelor of Medical Science in Australia in the 4th year also adds up to the need for a different arrangement of activities and working timeframe.
The International class itself is a young system and hence is our STUNICA, however it has been known that we are quick to learn and adapt to new situations. Our small size only challenges us to work even harder and more efficiently. The human resources that we have are divided into different departments, namely: Academic, Public Relations, Community Outreach, Publication and Documentation, Finance, Sports, and Internal Affairs.
In the year 2008, we have held community outreach programs (Bakti Sosial) in an orphanage and old folk’s home. We also filled special occasions such as the Ramadhan month with Buka Puasa Bersama with the less fortunate and Sahur on the Road. On Christmas we arranged a special gathering event for those who wish to celebrate the Christmas spirit. The library on the 5th floor also underwent improvements especially in its book shelving method. Regular sport exercises e.g futsal, soccer and badminton are done routinely because we realize the importance of being physically active. We have arranged a wide variety of activities and events that you would be able to explore more in this website.
In 2009, STUNICA is headed with the vision of providing opportunities to ALL students in the international class so that they can have a holistic experience in their study years in UI. Holistic experience means that they are able to develop their skills and interest in all areas of intelligence.
